Branding Matters 101 covers 3 basic elements: 1. VISUAL 2. VOICE 3. VALUE
Regardless of who you are or what business you’re in, you are a brand. At Persnickety Prints, we print. We print for graphic designers, photographers, and artists of many genres. Personal branding, by definition, is the process by which we market ourselves to others. We want YOU to succeed. This is your passion, your life, you, and it matters.
1. [VISUAL] Make your mark and make it loud and clear. This is your identity.
Recognize these logos? Who’s are they? What do they represent? Your logo can be simple as Adidas, bottom line, you need one. Once you have your logo, stick to it, use it, brand recognition is key. Business cards, signs, bag stuffers, packaging, client discs, digital watermarks, social channels, avatars and media all need to be branded.
Remember these 3 C’s: Strong brands are clear, consistent and constant.
2. [FIND YOUR VOICE & BE YOU] Your audience wants to connect with YOU, don’t fake it. Your style, logo, colors, overall aesthetics all represent you. Let your personality & passion shine through your brand. Your voice can be authoritative, informative, fun or just plain witty, but regardless, it must be authentic. Find a muse. Once you have an idea of what you’re going for, it can be helpful to find other brands who have similar voices.
3. [Offer Value & they will come]
Your online presence, whether it be personal or business will replace your resume. Competition is tough and consumers and businesses alike want to work with companies they respect and trust. Understand how to serve your customer the best way possible. Ask yourself, “What do I own that I really value”? For me, I couldn’t live without my iPhone. I use it in all aspects of my life; emails, scheduling, marketing and even snap photos of the kids! When your customers value your product or service this way, they will not only return, they will share the value with others…. for free.
