Do you struggle to take pictures of your everyday life?
Remembering and being inspired to take pictures each day is one of my biggest barriers when it comes to documenting my life. Whether the photos are for a long-term memory-keeping project like Project Life or just for pictures to remember the day, I turn to photo challenges to help inspire me.
There are several great everyday photo challenge sites each with their own unique style. Several of them start on the first of each month, making it a perfect time to start playing along!

Fat Mum Slim is a monthly photo challenge. New prompts are released on the first of each month both on the Fat Mum Slim website and Instagram at @fatmumslim. The October prompts are in the photo below.
Fall Photo Checklist by Simple as That
Simple as that provides several great photo checklists. An image of the the fall photo checklist is below and you can head to the Simple As That blog to download and print a full page copy of this checklist or one of several others.
The people at creativeiphoneography.com bring us this great self-paced photo-a-day challenge. If can be done over a month, over two months, or however long you want to take. As a bonus, there is free registration to the 30 Day Photos Project course on CourseCraft. The self-paced ecourse presents the photo challenge + curated resources to jump start your iPhoneography skills.
Project Life 365 is a photo-a-day site and community aimed at creatives. While the whole site boasts tons of inspiration, each week a list of daily photo prompts is released on the Project Life 365 blog and instagram feed.
Becky Higgins (creator of Project Life®) offers two great everyday photo resources, each available in PDF form. Everyday Life and Everyday Life for Teens and Young Adults each provide lots of inspiration for taking photos that will help tell your everyday story. The Everyday Life for Teens and Young Adults PDF is one of my absolute favorite photo resources for anyone who is looking to make sure their own life is also being documented.
If you’re looking to take your photography skills to the next level, this is the perfect photo challenge for you. This self-paced challenge has 30 prompts, to be taken one day at a time. Each prompt tackles a different photography technique beyond just point and shoot. The blog (expertphotography.com) offers helpful tips to go along with each of the prompts in case you’re feeling stuck.
